Short answer: To get the true ending, finish every purple-icon quest in the story menu before you enter Mirage Estate, then complete Bloodline Awakening, which means all five Long Pillar fights. You also need the optional bosses Zhu Yuan and Bi Feng. With everything done, a hidden final battle follows the normal final boss.

  • Spoiler warning: the rest of this page names late-game quests and bosses.
  • Before Mirage Estate (reached through the Green Serpent House in Pangzhen), finish: Deep in the Valley, Illusion of Inanis, Sha-Chi Powered Boat, Allure of Vanity, Illusory Pipa, Pillars of Kunlun, Whence the Weeping, The Herald's Illusion, Crimson Manor and Secrets at the Heart of the Lake.
  • After entering Mirage Estate, finish Bloodline Awakening by beating all five Long Pillars.
  • Optional bosses Zhu Yuan and Bi Feng are also required.
  • Last warning: the bell called The Last Chance in Mount Soulrend is your final chance to go back.
  • Gold-icon quests are the main story and you'll do them anyway; the purple ones are the side tales that count.
  • How many endings? PowerPyx describes two, Normal and True. Earlier press reports said eight, so the count is still unconfirmed (待验证).
