Best medicine: the short answer
No source names one definitive best medicine, but the guides agree on a core: the Healing Gourd as your main heal and the Medicine Case accessory, which adds 20% healing from medicines. The Gourd starts in your kit, has the most uses, and is the cheapest to max (27,000 Remnant Dust in total to Lv7).
For a second slot, Merciful Dew is the cheap strong pick: 60% HP over 10 seconds at Lv1 and 80% at Lv7, for the same 27,000. Longevity Tonic is the strongest heal (it restores all HP) but costs the most, 48,600.
Vessel Restorative is disputed. Grindnstrat suggests it as an early second slot next to the Gourd, while allthings.how advises against heavy investment because it has only one use.
- · Core: Healing Gourd plus Medicine Case.
- · Second slot, cheap: Merciful Dew.
- · Second slot, strongest: Longevity Tonic.
- · Defensive boss fights: Kuye Dew (damage reduction plus heal).
- · Emergency: Phantom Brew, the only remedy that gives immunity.
All remedies compared
Costs are in Remnant Dust. Effects are Lv1 first, with Lv7 where the sources give it. See Accessories for the full accessory list.

How to get the Medicine Case and Calming Gourd
Both come from healer quests in the early game and can be missed.
01Medicine CaseWeeping Creek Valley to Crimson Forest
- · Start: talk to Yu'er at the Outpost after you beat Peng Meng. The quest is Apprentice Healer.
- · Find 3 herbs: Blood-Stopper Vine, Congealeaf and Blemish Goldweed (one source spells it Goldleaf).
- · You need the Hunter's Chain Sickle to reach them.
- · Missable: finish it before the Crimson Forest main objectives end, and before you defeat Jing Ye.
02Calming GourdCrimson Forest
- · Quest: A Healer's Mercy. You tend 4 wounded thieves in Crimson Forest.
- · Missable: do it before the Crimson Forest main objectives end, and before Bai Chilian.
- · Effect: after you use medicine, you recover from guard break and Sha-Chi use is free for 3s. The Healing Gourd and Merciful Dew stay your main heals; this is a helper if guard breaks keep killing you.
Tips
- · Equip two medicines at once. Resting at a bell refills medicine uses.
- · Upgrades cost Remnant Dust. The Healing Gourd and Merciful Dew are the cheapest to max.
- · Sha-Chi builds: Focus Pill and Simmering Brew help with supply. Guard-break builds: Spirit-Returning Broth.
- · Pair medicine with the right accessory. Accessories and Builds cover the rest of the loadout.
Where guides disagree
- · Vessel Restorative: Grindnstrat suggests it as an early second slot. Allthings.how says not to invest heavily because it has one use.
- · Healing Gourd uses: Grindnstrat lists 3, allthings.how lists 4 at Lv7. That is probably base versus upgraded.
- · Goldweed vs Goldleaf: the third herb for the Medicine Case is spelled both ways.
- · Medicine Case refining adding Super Armor comes from one search snippet only.
