Details
- Start: pick up the note on the body under the tree by the Broken Puppet Valley bell, then the second note on the table in the house across from it (Method).
- Peng Meng: clear the Outpost, talk to the Petrified Mandate Disciple in the marked village house, then beat Axemaster Peng Meng. He is slow and hits hard, so parry the heavy swings. Reward: the Dread Axe Phantom Edge.
- Documents (Final Boss list): Calamity (under the fallen tree at Broken Puppet Valley bell), Chaos (hut nearby), Confusion (building opposite the Outpost Courtyard bell), Captain Wu's Final Letter (table near the Axemaster's Holding Cell bell), Gu Lingran's Letter (Blue-Robed Swordsman at Sha-Chi Tower base camp), the reply from Sect Leader Ming (Sha-Chi Tower underbelly), and Strategist Xu Feng's Secret Letter (end of Lady's Cave).
- Gated parts: the Dread Axe breaks the chained barrier blocking the river. Xu Feng's letter needs Leave None Alone from the Village of Lu, so you can't finish this tale early.
- Turn-in: in Pangzhen, start at the Huang Manor Crossroads bell, fight up the red-lantern tower, take the Rooftop Key from the last enemy and talk to the Child of Insight on the roof of the Pavilion of Knowledge. Talking to the starting NPC does not complete it.
- Reward: Blood Oath Dagger for Soul Tempering, which speeds up the Dread Axe's charge. Related: weapons list.
